Itinerary

Your journey through Tanzania’s most iconic wildlife destinations begins with an exploration of diverse landscapes, from the ancient baobabs of Tarangire to the endless plains of the Serengeti and the dramatic crater of Ngorongoro. This seven-day safari offers an immersive experience in the heart of the African wilderness, combining thrilling game drives, walking safaris, and cultural encounters with Tanzania’s rich heritage.

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport, you will be greeted by your safari guide, who will provide a briefing on the incredible adventure ahead. From here, you will be transferred to the Charity Hotel, a comfortable accommodation in Arusha that offers a warm welcome and a peaceful atmosphere.

Arusha, located at an altitude of approximately 1,400 meters, enjoys a mild and temperate climate, making it the perfect place to rest after your journey. The city is known as the safari capital of Tanzania, nestled between Mount Meru and Kilimanjaro, offering breathtaking views of these towering peaks.

Dinner will be served at the hotel’s restaurant, featuring a selection of local and international dishes. The night is spent in the comfort of Charity Hotel, allowing you to recharge before the adventure begins.

After an early breakfast, you will embark on a journey to Tarangire National Park, located approximately 120 kilometers from Arusha. Spanning around 2,850 square kilometers, this park is renowned for its vast elephant herds, ancient baobab trees, and seasonal swamps that attract an abundance of wildlife.

The climate in Tarangire is typically warm and dry, with temperatures ranging between 20-30°C during the day. The Tarangire River, the park’s lifeline, remains a permanent water source, drawing animals from across the region, especially during the dry season. During the morning game drive, you will witness large herds of elephants, sometimes numbering in the hundreds, as they gather near the river. Other wildlife includes giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, impalas, and elands, as well as predators such as lions, leopards, and cheetahs. Tarangire is also home to rare species such as the fringe-eared oryx and the long-necked gerenuk, which are specially adapted to dry environments.

A picnic lunch will be enjoyed in the heart of the park, offering a scenic view of the wildlife-rich plains. In the afternoon, you will embark on a guided walking safari, allowing you to experience the bush from a unique perspective. Accompanied by an expert guide, you will learn about the smaller details of the ecosystem, including medicinal plants, animal tracks, and the behavior of smaller mammals.

As the sun sets, you will drive to Farm of Dreams Lodge in Karatu, where you will enjoy a delicious dinner prepared with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. This charming lodge offers luxurious accommodations with spacious rooms, a swimming pool, and lush gardens, providing a relaxing retreat after an exhilarating day.

After an early breakfast, you will set off for the legendary Serengeti National Park, passing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area en route. Covering approximately 14,750 square kilometers, the Serengeti is Tanzania’s most famous park, known for its vast open plains, incredible wildlife diversity, and the Great Migration.

The climate in the Serengeti varies depending on the region, with Seronera experiencing warm temperatures ranging between 15-28°C. The central Serengeti is characterized by rolling grasslands, acacia woodlands, and rocky outcrops known as kopjes, which provide ideal hiding spots for predators.

As you traverse the park, you will witness thousands of wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles, alongside large predators such as lions, leopards, and cheetahs. Seronera is one of the best places in Africa to see leopards, as they often rest in the branches of acacia trees.

A picnic lunch will be enjoyed at a designated site within the park, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the wilderness. After an afternoon game drive, you will arrive at Serenity Lodge, a luxurious retreat nestled in the heart of the Serengeti. The lodge offers beautifully designed tents with en-suite bathrooms, comfortable beds, and private verandas overlooking the savannah. Dinner will be served under the stars, accompanied by the distant roars of lions.

Rising with the sun, you will embark on a morning game drive in the eastern Serengeti, a region known for its high concentration of cheetahs. The Gol Kopjes, scattered rock formations, provide vantage points for lions and leopards as they survey their territory. The eastern Serengeti is a predator’s paradise, with open grasslands that allow cheetahs to reach their top speeds while hunting gazelles. You may also encounter spotted hyenas, jackals, and bat-eared foxes.

Lunch will be served at a scenic picnic site, allowing you to take in the beauty of the Serengeti while enjoying a delicious meal.

As the day draws to a close, you will return to Serenity Lodge for another night of comfort and relaxation. Dinner will be served in the lodge’s elegant dining area, featuring a variety of dishes made from fresh, locally sourced ingredients.

After an early breakfast, you will bid farewell to the Serengeti and travel to the Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa’s most remarkable natural wonders. This vast volcanic caldera spans 260 square kilometers and is home to over 25,000 animals. The crater’s climate is cooler than the surrounding lowlands, with temperatures ranging between 10-25°C. The diverse ecosystem includes grasslands, forests, and lakes, supporting a variety of wildlife.

Lunch will be enjoyed near the Hippo Pool, where you can watch these massive creatures wallow in the water. During the game drive, you will encounter large herds of buffalo, zebras, wildebeests, and gazelles, alongside predators such as lions and hyenas. The crater is also one of the best places in Tanzania to see the rare black rhinoceros.

As the sun sets, you will return to Farm of Dreams Lodge, where a delicious dinner and a comfortable bed await.

After breakfast, you will embark on a cultural tour, visiting local communities and learning about the traditions of the Iraqw, Maasai, and Hadzabe tribes. This immersive experience includes traditional dances, storytelling, and insights into their way of life.

The journey continues to Ngila Coffee Estate, a beautiful plantation set on the slopes of the Ngorongoro highlands. Here, you will learn about the coffee-making process, from bean to cup, and enjoy a tasting session of freshly brewed Tanzanian coffee.

Returning to Farm of Dreams Lodge, you will have time to relax before dinner, reflecting on the incredible experiences of the past week.

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for your departure, carrying with you unforgettable memories of Tanzania’s breathtaking landscapes and extraordinary wildlife.
